Medical Assistant

We're hiring a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient dermatology clinic in our Westminster, Eldersburg & Mt. Airy clinics. Medical Assistant will assist Physicians and other Providers by preparing procedure trays, ensuring adequate supplies for the department and assisting with patient care.

Pay range : $16-22 / hr, depending upon experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document intake.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow.
• Setup procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instructions.
• Assist providers with dermatology procedures.
• Prepare Path / lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan.
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
• Review and address clinical task lists and nurse line messages.
• Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule. Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
• Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records.
• Maintain infection control and make sure supply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
• Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
• Accurately document patient information and scribe provider notes in the EMR.
• Assist with administration of local anesthetic.
• Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
