Summary of Responsibilities :
The Scheduler IV will support the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Build Program by providing high-level scheduling oversight and analysis for capital construction projects at Los Angeles Harbor College and Los Angeles Southwest College. This role is critical to the successful execution of multi-phase educational facility upgrades and modernization efforts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and coordinate detailed project schedules aligned with project execution strategies and program milestones.
- Review and analyze contractor schedules for contract compliance and overall schedule integrity.
- Assess the schedule and budget impacts of contract change orders and amendments.
- Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA) for delays and assist in the evaluation of construction claims.
- Participate in change order negotiations, identifying and assessing schedule-related risks.
- Conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value analyses.
- Identify potential scheduling issues during execution and recommend proactive solutions and corrective actions.
- Perform site visits to monitor construction progress and validate reported schedule updates.
- Prepare written narratives summarizing schedule progress, risks, and key findings for executive decision-making.
- Review contractor recovery schedules and ensure alignment with program goals.
- Support project cost analysis and assist in developing cost-loaded schedules for accurate cash flow forecasting.
- Evaluate budget performance and track actual expenditures against planned projections.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, program policies, and procedures as set forth by BuildLACCD.
- Collaborate with project teams and management to ensure scheduling objectives are met.
Minimum Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 10 years of project or program scheduling experience on large-scale construction programs.Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration , or related field. (Note : Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)Advanced proficiency in scheduling and project management software, including Primavera (P6) , MS Project , Excel , Word , and PowerPoint .Solid knowledge of scheduling principles, cost engineering, time impact analysis, and claims evaluation.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and travel between multiple job sites as needed.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
