Maintenance Technician
POSITION
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician
at here at Harmon Scrap Metal is a skilled, hands-on professional
responsible for the preventative, routine, and emergency
maintenance of a wide range of equipment critical to daily
operations. This includes semi-trucks, cranes, shredders,
conveyors, and other heavy industrial machinery used in the
processing and transportation of scrap metal. They play a key role
in minimizing downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and
maintaining a safe work environment.

PERFORMANCE
OBJECTIVES
Performs
routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune
ups, per manufacturer guidelines
Mount,
dismount, and repair semi tires
Repairs or
replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brakes, lights,
belts, water pumps, tires, and other mechanical parts
Oils and lubricates moving parts on equipment
to ensure effective performance
Cleans,
organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas,
parts, tools, and supplies
Maintain
documentation of repairs in CMMS ( Computerized Maintenance
Management System )
Attend and participate in
internal meetings and complete required training
Performs other related duties as assigned by
management

Work environment involves

EDUCATION
& EXPERIENCE
High
school diploma or equivalent
At least two
years of automotive and maintenance experience
Driver's license & clean driving record
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
Must be
able to stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces
Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50
pounds
crouch and bend at the knee; stoop or bend at the waist; reach arms
overhead; and twist and turn at the neck and trunk
continuous leg and foot motion when using pedals
Good hearing to detect equipment noises or
alarms.
Good vision (color vision) for reading
gauges, schematics, and identifying materials or warning
signs.
Ability to work long shifts in
physically demanding conditions, often outdoors in all weather
(heat, cold,
rain).
