Job Title : Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Engineer to lead and manage quality compliance initiatives across aerospace and defense programs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AS9100 standards, a thorough understanding of Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP), and proficiency in interpreting and applying the Supplier Requirement Applicability Matrix (SRAM). This role is pivotal in ensuring that all quality requirements are effectively flowed down to suppliers and that our products meet stringent industry and governmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain AS9100-compliant Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring adherence to industry standards and continuous improvement.
  • Interpret and apply MAP requirements across programs, ensuring that all contractual quality obligations are met and properly documented.
  • Analyze and interpret SRAM to determine applicable quality requirements for suppliers, ensuring accurate flow-down and compliance.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive inspection plans, including First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), to perform precise measurements.
  • Document all inspection results, discrepancies, and non-conformance reports in accordance with quality management systems.
  • Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of inspection equipment and tools.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain a Configuration Management process.
  • Manage configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audits to ensure product integrity throughout its lifecycle.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring proper documentation, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Maintain configuration baselines and ensure traceability of all configuration items.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of quality activities and prepare necessary documentation and reports.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in AS9100 standards.
  • Proficiency in interpreting Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP).
  • Experience with Supplier Requirement Applicability Matrix (SRAM).
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • ISO 9001 and ISO audit experience.
  • Quality engineering and supplier quality expertise.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in configuration management and auditing.
  • Skill in conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) following AS9102 standards.
  • Capability in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00 / hr.
