The successful candidate will be responsible for turning strategic theses into tangible business opportunities, from the initial concept to the first revenue. This role is pivotal in driving the company's mission to build durable businesses that address significant problems. Key responsibilities include sourcing and championing opportunities with a clear path to product-market fit, leading the company creation process, structuring deals that align incentives, and providing go-to-market leadership. The Head of Ventures and Innovation will also be instrumental in building and strengthening the company's presence in the Midwest innovation ecosystem. Applicants for the Head of Ventures and Innovation role at the company should have a background as a Founder, GM, COO, or BU Head, with a proven track record of building and scaling businesses. The ideal candidate will be future-focused, pragmatic, and disciplined, with a strong understanding of product, finance, and go-to-market strategies. Experience in venture studio, corporate innovation, or product leadership, and a working knowledge of term sheets, cap tables, and commercial contracts, are essential. The role requires a leader who is comfortable with a hands-on approach, from engaging with engineers to negotiating business terms, and who is passionate about creating companies that have a lasting impact. Familiarity with the company's domains, such as government, healthcare, aviation, logistics, and data / AI, is a plus.
