Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is a beautiful and state of the art 72-bed facility. Cedar Creek provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. As part of our success and innovation in the field we are seeking qualified applicants for a part time Behavioral / Psychiatric Health Technician position.

Position Description

Behavioral / Psychiatric Health Technicians carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Lead Tech, Registered Nurse and Shift Supervisor. This includes :

• Assisting in the ongoing assessment of the safety and emotional needs of each patient.
• Demonstrating awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients and provides intervention / care accordingly on an individualized basis.
• Assisting patients with their personal grooming and personal hygiene, appropriate to the patient's age, developmental level and needs.
• Participating in assigned groups and activities to meet the needs of various patient populations.
• Demonstrating the ability to maintain therapeutic and professional rapport with patients.
• Participating with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Provides verbal de-escalation techniques and physical management, as needed.
• Making rounds on patients every 15 minutes or sooner to provide patient safety.
• Assisting the RN with patient admissions and discharges. Performs vital signs, belongings searches, and orientation to the unit.

Hours

This position offers full time hours, based on a schedule of 3 12 hour shifts per week, including an every other weekend rotation. 7am to 7 : 30pm
