Overview

World Travel Holdings is seeking a remote Software Engineer with Java development experience.  This role will be responsible for creating and maintaining cutting-edge web-based applications, and support of legacy applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop clear and comprehensive back-end solutions
  • Participate in design discussions, prototype development and code reviews
  • Ability to work in an agile team environment, and collaborate cross-functionally in sprints
  • Ability to manage priorities and schedules, including timely task updates for the project team
  • Comply with coding and project standards and processes
  • Debug and troubleshoot existing code, and determine optimum solutions when required
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in Enterprise Java and open-source technologies; share knowledge with the team and propose adoption of new technologies
  • Support applications in QA and production environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 2+ years of Java experience
  • Experience with Spring Framework or JEE
  • Experience with creating and consuming RESTful web services with JSON
  • Experience with Linux
  • Working knowledge of Oracle database SQL and JDBC using HQl and / or JPQL
  • Practical, in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of object-oriented design and programming
  • Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Very strong, delivery focused work ethic that takes ownership and produces results
  • Ability to multitask and switch tracks as needed
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and the enterprise at large
