Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative supplement Product Developer to join our team. As a supplement Product Developer, you will play a crucial role in researching, formulating, and developing high-quality dietary supplements that meet the needs of our target audience. Your expertise in nutritional science, formulation, and industry trends will contribute to the success of our product portfolio. You will work directly with our co-manufacturers to bring innovative new products to life. The ideal candidate will be passionate about wellness, creative, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about the supplement space. They will represent the brand well when working alongside our external partners. The Product Developer will report to the Director of Product Development and will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation and the expansion of our product line.

Responsibilities and Duties

Research and Analysis :

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, scientific research, and market demands related to dietary supplements
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify gaps and opportunities for new supplement products

Ideate :

  • Bring innovative and differentiated supplements from concept to market that support our core customers’ health goals and needs
  • Identify novel and emerging ingredients and formats for products

    • Commercialize :

  • Maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and co-manufacturers and work to build and maintain those relationships
  • Provide detailed feedback on new product sample submissions and ensure formulations are high-quality, efficacious, and cost-effective

    • Execute :

  • Work within project timelines and coordinate across suppliers to maintain on-time delivery of critical milestones
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing to craft product messaging

    • Maintain :

  • Manage reformulation of existing products when necessary to ensure products continue to be differentiated and up to date with emerging data and trends

    • Qualifications and Skills

    Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience in Food Science, Science, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience working in product development, R&D, and / or manufacturing within the functional foods and / or supplements industry
  • Expertise in technical research, project management, and managing strong relationships with suppliers

    • Interpersonal :

  • Strong communication skills-  listens and over-communicates
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills; works well cross-functionally
  • Thoughtful and self-reflective;  willingness to learn
  • Team-player, hard-working, organized, and goal-oriented
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement for building from the ground up
