Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring peds and cardiac ICU experience, NE or compact RN license, and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital setting

Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 00)

Unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2

Patient population includes post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac cases, heart transplant, and heart failure

Unit utilizes invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA) and cares for patients on ECMO and CRRT

Care involves management of vasopressors, cardiac drips, and sedation drips

Role involves managing critically ill pediatric cardiac patients on advanced life support and monitoring

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Local candidates within a 100-mile radius are not eligible for this travel assignment

Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration

Requirements

Active NE or compact RN license

At least 2 years of pediatric and cardiac ICU nursing experience required

Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, and PALS required

Experience with invasive cardiac monitoring, ECMO, and CRRT preferred
