LSI Stsffing is hiring a second shift supervisor at a major sheetmetal company in NE Houston.
starting pay $25 per hour
Product contains lead, must be clean shaven and be able to wear a respirator mask the entore shift.
Reports to Senior Production Supervisor
Responsible to ensure all shop floor employees are meeting all Environmental, Safety and Health Policies and procedures.
Responsible to ensure all shop floor employees are meeting all Quality Management System Policies and procedures.
Oversees the following production activities
Mill Operator
Decoil and Roll up Operators
Saw Operator
Packaging Lead person
Packaging operators
Scrap Operator as needed
Fills in at all areas as needed
Manages and reports employee attendance and break times.
Manages and turns in all daily production reports making sure they are complete and correct.
Manages and conducts daily forklift inspections and turns documentation into Maintenance.
Manages and conducts daily crane inspections and turns documentation into Maintenance.
Responsible for reporting tools and equipment damage and items needing repaired or replaced.
Responsible for securing and locking up at the end of the shift.
Perform weekly counts and turn in shop supply request to Senior Supervisor.
Coordinates with the Senior Supervisor and Production Scheduler to establish daily schedules and production priorities.
Assures and verifies orders are completed per the schedule, and order instructions
Verifies thickness by measuring with micrometers, width, length and squareness and weights on finished orders
Report shortages to Senior Supervisor
Provide solution resolve any shortages
Report how the shortages was resolved
Report the reason for the shortages
Manages manpower for production activities
Report indirect labor activities to the Senior Supervisor as directed by the Plant Manager
Redirects manpower as needed
Recommend man-power needs to the Senior Supervisor
Conduct interviews with the Senior Supervisor
Conduct annual reviews with the Senior Supervisor
Make recommendations for employee advancement or change in position
Responsible for employee corrective and disciplinary actions and making recommendations to the Senior Supervisor. Upon final resolution, the Supervisor will be responsible for implementing the outcome. In extreme cases, the supervisor has the authority to ask an employee to leave the property until further notice.
Weekly and daily respirator inspections to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Daily verify employees are clean shaven for respirator use.
Verify employee daily shower logs are complete and signed and turned into the Senior Production Supervisor.
Ensure daily cleanup of Break Room and Locker Room. Clean up log is documented and turned into the Senior Supervisor
Load trucks or delegate loading as needed
Verify load check sheet is filled out and load is correct
Responsible for daily housekeeping and to maintain clean work areas
Manage Scrap- By proper tracking
Types of materials must be segregated and color code by material type.
Perform incident investigations with the Senior Supervisor and review with the Plant Manger
Accountable for the performance of the shift.
Qualifications :
3-5 years supervisory experience in a production / manufacturing environment.
Excellent math, supervisory, and communication skills.
Must be able to read a tape measure, read and write in English
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
Must be able to wear a respirator
Must be proficient at forklift operation
Must have overhead crane experience
Demonstrated supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, computer, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
Basic understanding of OSHA, labor and other federal regulations.
Understanding of machine operation principles.
Performs other duties as assigned.
