Base pay range

$320,000.00 / yr - $400,000.00 / yr

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements listed below and any additional requirements specified in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements

• United States Citizenship.
• Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
• Degree obtained from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
• Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Accepted residencies include those approved by ACGME, AOA, or other non‑U.S. programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified U.S. practice.
• Residents currently enrolled in an accredited residency training program who meet the basic requirements are eligible to be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis; they are not considered independent practitioners.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Preferred experience : Board‑eligible or board‑certified.
• Robotic training – fellowship training preferred.
• Physical Requirements : Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination as required by VA Handbook 5019. The examination is administered by VA Occupational Health.
