Medical Director III, Nurse Practitioner

INTRODUCTION

Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director is responsible for, but not limited to, the provision of care and coordination of the daily activities of the various medical disciplines of the Unity Health Care Health Center team, and serves as the liaison between Unity and the community. The Medical Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality, safe medical services of a clinical site, including supervision of all providers working at the designated site.

MAJOR DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supports the health center and organization in contributing to the quadruple aim : improving health outcomes, improving patient experience, supporting care team well-being and the financial sustainability of the organization

Health outcomes :

• Performs and serves as a role model for patient care and medical provider duties.
• Supervises providers at site to ensure the safe provision of care and compliance with policies and procedures of Unity Health Care.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives at the Center and engages team members.
• Reviews available data reports and analysis to develop action plans to achieve the center's goals and shares relevant information with providers.
• Ensures clinical best practices are shared at the Center and that providers are optimizing CME.
• Conduct root causes analyses of incident reports to identify issues and potential systemic solutions.
• Manages peer review process at their site in accordance with protocol. This includes reviewing provider charts at around 45 and 90 days. Specifically, the Medical Director is responsible for re-evaluating those charts of providers not meeting the minimum standards and providing feedback. Peer review process with specialty directors needed in some cases.
• Assists with identification of supply and equipment needs.
