Responsibilities :

The Financial Analyst will support Barrow Wise's State of Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) project and perform the following duties :

• Define government financial business practices and Electronic Commerce / Electronic Data Interchange (EC / EDI) opportunities.
• Incorporate the defined processes into an automated solution that integrates relational databases and distributed systems into the government financial business system.
• Identify potential problems and recommend solutions through analysis.
• Work with functional specialists, automation specialists, Contractors, vendors, and customers to effectively automate the customer's requirements into an automated application.
• Act as a focal point to coordinate all disciplines in the recommended solution.
• Communicate with both IT and financial-oriented individuals to document the flow, recommend opportunities, impact recommendations, and serve as the liaison between the financial specialist and automation specialists that do not have both disciplines and
• Apply state-of-the-art applications that will automate financial applications most effectively while adhering to the established Accounting Principles and Practices.
