Our Programs and Services Division is seeking to add a collaborative Licensing Services Manager to lead the CDL Skills Testing team!
As one of the most visible state agencies and the second-largest revenue generator in Washington State we engage with over 6 million residents each year and collect nearly $3 billion in taxes and fees. Duties
As the CDL Skills Testing Manager you will lead and coach your team as they provide essential support to our CDL customers. With your people-centered approach you will foster a culture of collaboration and belonging while assigning and directing work of staff monitoring performance and leading through any organizational changes. Under your supportive guidance the CDL Skills Testing team will have a direct impact on helping every Washington resident live work drive and thrive.

What you will bring :
Six (6) years of customer service experience providing services or assistance to clients / customers regarding inquiries complaints or problems in person writing or over the phone.
Experience must include :
Two (2) years of experience in commercial driver testing licensing or other regulated credentialing environments.
Two (2) years of experience managing skills testing programs in a government licensing or credentialing setting.
Two (2) years of experience supervising or leading a team including responsibility for coaching evaluating performance delegating assignments and managing workflow.
Two (2) years of experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws administrative rules and policies related to commercial driver licensing examiner conduct or skills testing requirements.
Two (2) years of experience working with internal and external partners including federal agencies local government partners and private industry representatives with the ability to build credibility facilitate meetings and convey program requirements clearly.
Three (3) years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience.
What may help set you apart :
Bachelors Degree in Business or Public Administration or a closely allied field.
In-depth knowledge of CDL testing procedures examiner certification standards and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Experience developing or contributing to long-term plans or operational strategies in a government or compliance program setting.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to lead staff through organizational or procedural changes.
Experience implementing new systems standards or policies across multiple stakeholders.
Familiarity with preparing or managing operating budgets in a government setting. Able to estimate resource needs and justify program funding decisions.
Possess a valid Class A commercial driver license w / out restriction.
