• And much more\n\nPosition Summary : \n\nThe Emergency Department (ED) at Spring View Hospital, embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is an 11-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. You'll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.\n\nThe Charge nurse demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.\n
• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.\n
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work / patient flow.\n
• Provides direct patient care as needed.\n
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.\n
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.\n
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.\n
• Responds to complaints about patient care and related services and manages through established channels.\n
• Performs role-specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.\n
• Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.\n

• Associate's degree in nursing required\n
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred\n
• 1+ years of ER experience preferred\n
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action\n\nCertifications : \n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required\n
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.\n
• PALS certification within 6 months of hire\n\nLicense : \n
• Current RN license in the state of Kentucky\n
