Role

This position is an ambassador for the financial institution with the overall purpose of providing quality  service to members through in-person and electronic interfaces. This universal agent role is responsible  for conducting teller and cash vault transactions in an accurate and timely manner. Responsibilities  include sales and servicing of all products and services for both shares and loans. The FSR works with  the Member Services, Operations, and Lending teams to achieve goals in the areas of deposit, business,  and consumer relationship growth while maintaining current knowledge of products, services, and  promotions. Utilization of essential controls and safeguards in this role is critical.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the needs of existing and potential members and offers appropriate financial products and services.
  • Prepares and compiles new member applications and information to open new accounts. Ensure signature cards and other initial documentation are complete. Monitors new accounts to ensure successful membership onboarding. Assists the Lending department in processing loan applications, credit reports, and documentation. Cross sells credit union services where appropriate.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposit to savings and checking accounts, verifies deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and posts transactions into credit union records via the core processing system. Cashes checks from savings / checking accounts upon verification of signatures and member account balances.
  • Troubleshoots / Resolves inquiries in a timely, professional, and accurate manner. Advises members of account status or enhancements and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity. Answers telephone calls, provides information, and directs calls to appropriate staff as necessary. Completes other duties as assigned for the enhancement of the credit union and its mission.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Good customer service and communication skills are critical for this position. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) and advanced keyboarding and ten-key skills. Training on the job will be provided. Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.

Education

Minimum high school education or GED required. Advanced education is encouraged. A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
