Medical Assistant Position

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. You will assist physicians with procedures by documenting medical history and case notes, relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person, and collect patient data both in person and by phone.

Responsibilities :

• Assist physicians with procedures and document medical history and case notes.
• Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.
• Collect patient data in person and by phone, and document patient concerns.
• Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review.
• Accurately take messages, route them to the appropriate area, and handle order and referral entries.
• Set up cases in the EMR system and update demographics.
• Document medical information in patient records accurately.
• Track and route test results to physicians or nurse practitioners for review.
• Communicate test results with patients as directed by the physician or nurse practitioner.
• Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
• Perform triage as appropriate and directed by physician or nurse practitioner.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Perform basic computer skills using the electronic health record proficiently for documentation and communication.

Work Environment :

This position is based in a busy urgent care facility operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. The facility handles 50-100 patients a day, offering opportunities for overtime within different specialties.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
