Documentation Supervisor (Newport News)

A large worldwide, rapidly growing industrial equipment company is looking for a Technical Publications Supervisor to oversee the development, accuracy, and timely delivery of technical documentation, including manuals, service bulletins, illustrated parts catalogs, and other product support materials. This is a new position that reports to the Manager and oversees a team of 6-10 and ensures that documentation meets industry standards, supports product usability, aligns with organizational goals and customer expectations while also mentoring team members and coordinating with cross-functional departments.

Competencies

• Bachelor's degree heavily preferred
• 3 - 6+ years of years' total experience in engineering or manufacturing of physical parts / products, preferably with an OEM
• 2+ years in a lead or senior role
• 1+ years' experience with part illustrations using Adobe Illustrator, ISODraw, or CREO
• 1+ years' experience technical writing or engineering documentation (manuals, exploded views, assembly diagrams, service bulletins, part catalogues)
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and documentation
• Experience interpreting BOM (bill of materials)
• Attention to detail, communication, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
