Position Summary :
The Campus Operations Manager supports the Chief Operations Officer / CFO in the administration, organization, and supervision of both the Middle and High School campuses. This role maintains a flexible 50 / 50 presence across both buildings-or as needed-based on leadership availability and responsiveness. Key responsibilities include oversight of additional programming, facilities, transportation, safety protocols, school events, and overall operational management. The Campus Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that systems run efficiently and supports a safe, well-organized learning environment. This position also includes key project management responsibilities related to facility expansion and the coordination of special school-related events, ensuring that strategic growth and engagement efforts are executed successfully and communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
The role will also assume supervisory responsibilities over operational personnel and vendors, including custodial staff, overnight custodial vendor staff, school office personnel, food service vendor staff, and the property manager, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and adherence to school policies and expectations.
Essential Responsibilities :
o Serve as acting administrator when designated by the COO / CFO.
O Participate on the School Leadership Team and assist with schoolwide initiatives and projects.
Provide informed feedback on staffing, scheduling, and budgeting decisions.
o Directly supervise school-based operational staff, including custodial staff, office staff, and assigned vendor personnel.
Oversee custodial vendor services, including overnight cleaning teams, to ensure standards of cleanliness, timeliness, and safety are consistently met.
o Manage performance, scheduling, and support for meal service vendors and ensure compliance with health and nutritional guidelines.
Serve as the liaison to the property manager, ensuring regular communication, issue resolution, and follow-up on repairs and maintenance.
o Conduct regular check-ins, evaluations, and training as needed to maintain a high functioning support team.
o Lead the development, staffing, and oversight of after-school, recess, and summer programs.
Coordinate out-of-school meal allocations.
o Support school health program by collaborating with school nursing staff to ensure student health needs are addressed and integrated into program planning.
Manage professional development aligned to programming needs.
o Oversee the scheduling and management of the school events calendar across both campuses.
o Support coordination of major events such as orientations, report card conferences, parent engagement events, and Regents testing (including communication, scheduling, transportation, and meals).
o Lead or support project management efforts for school facility expansion, including planning, vendor coordination, progress monitoring, and milestone tracking.
o Monitor, approve, and communicate upcoming schoolwide events to ensure alignment with building operations, staffing, and stakeholder expectations.
Coordinate cross-department logistics and ensure all impacted staff are informed and prepared.
o Serve as liaison between operations and academic staff to ensure events and project plans align with school goals and run smoothly.
o Manage the development and distribution of the weekly student / family communication bulletin to ensure timely, accurate, and accessible information reaches our community.
o Oversee the custodial ticketing system, maintenance requests, and cleanliness standards.
Collaborate with the Head Custodian on all building and field maintenance, improvements, and capital needs.
o Oversee staff, student, and visitor parking procedures across both campuses.
Coordinate the scheduling and maintenance of the school van reservation calendar, ensuring it remains accurate and is clearly communicated to all staff.
o Support transportation-related systems and staff parking systems.
o Support daily building operations including arrival, dismissal, entry protocols, uniform compliance, and hallway transitions.
o Enforce behavioral and operational policies such as cell phone usage and hallway sweeps.
o Collaborate with the Director of Safety & Security to develop and implement visitor management procedures.
o Lead or support emergency response protocols, including fire drills, lockdowns, and shelter-in-place events.
