Acute Respiratory Therapist
MLR Healthcare (Recruiting) is looking for a dedicated, full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled team at a reputable acute-care hospital in Texas. In this role, you will deliver specialized respiratory care, adhering to established protocols to assist patients in their recovery and enhance their overall respiratory well-being.
Salary Range : $55,654 - $90,583 per year
Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist :
- Collaboration with Healthcare Teams : Work alongside physicians and other medical staff to assess patient needs and create personalized respiratory care plans.
- Respiratory Assessments : Perform evaluations to identify patient respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment interventions.
- Shift Schedule : Night shifts with rotation every other weekend, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Environmental Assessments : Review patients' home or work environments and suggest modifications to support respiratory health and independence.
- Documentation and Data Management : Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health systems.
- Safety Compliance : Ensure adherence to OSHA and NIOSH safety standards in the work environment.
Qualifications :
Licensure : Active Respiratory Care license in Texas required.Certification Maintenance : Maintain current certification with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) through the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).Graduate Therapist Requirements : Must obtain CRT certification and pursue RRT certification within one year of graduation. Those not meeting RRT certification will transition to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until certification is achieved.Basic Life Support (BLS) : BLS certification required prior to patient interaction.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) : Must be obtained within six months.Pediatric Emergency (ENPC / PALS) : Certification required within one year.Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) : Certification must be completed within the first year.
