JOB PURPOSE

The Program Driver is responsible for day-to-day deliveries of groceries, meals, and products to clients while serving with dignity and respect. This position works closely with the client intake team and fleet manager to ensure clients receive essential items. This role provides vital communication and feedback on real-time barriers to maintain efficiency and operations to ensure excellent service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating the delivery vehicle
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients in a safe, timely manner
  • Reviewing produce before delivery to ensure freshness
  • Wear Just One Project branded clothing to identify as staff while making deliveries
  • Abide by all transportation laws and regulations and maintain a safe driving record
  • Proactively provide feedback on daily deliveries and client needs to Fleet Manager and Client Intake team
  • Monitoring vehicle wear and tear and recommend maintenance as needed
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, while escalating any unsafe vehicles or situations to direct manager
  • Any other job duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of professional driving experience with box trucks, vans, or other large vehicles (required)
  • Proven driving experience with a clean driving record (required)
  • 1+ year of non-profit experience (preferred)
  • 2+ year of customer service experience (required)

    • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Must attend six mandatory 'Pop Up & Give' events per year
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation

    • WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to safely drive and operate large vehicles including box trucks and cargo vans for extended periods
  • Frequent loading, unloading, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 50 lbs
  • Regularly enter and exit vehicles and perform deliveries requiring walking, climbing, bending, and crouching
  • Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind while delivering items outdoors
  • Exposure to typical vehicle-related noise, vibration, and exhaust during driving and deliveries
  • Requires alertness and consistent focus on road safety, traffic navigation, and safe client interactions

    • WORK SCHEDULE & EXPECTATIONS

  • This position is full-time , requiring approximately 40 hours per week .
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during audits or special projects.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and prepared to begin daily operations at the designated start time
  • Expected to maintain consistent communication with supervisors throughout shifts via phone or slack app
  • Must uphold professional conduct and client-focused service at all times while in the field
