The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization. With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.
The Optimization & Innovation Specialist, under the direction of the Optimization & Innovation Manager, is responsible for partnering with revenue cycle teams to identify operational pain points and support improvement initiatives. They will conduct data analysis to improve performance improvement efforts while supporting the development and documentation of current and future-state workflows. They will assist in the implementation of automation and process optimization technologies as well as participate in stakeholder meetings and knowledge-sharing activities. They must also maintain compliance and documentation updates for implemented improvements. Serves as a role model by displaying the HHC H3W leadership behaviors. Provides departmental coverage as necessary.
Position Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility include :
Training and Development
Ensures HealthStream learnings are completed. Completes initial training for comprehension of essential job responsibilities and continuous training to remain proficient with front-end enhancements to the registration process. Develops proficiencies in other areas of the revenue cycle to provide additional support. Helps with process improvement initiatives and decision making.
Performs other duties as directed and / or required.
Regularly assists / supports coworkers in every aspect of their duties.
Qualifications
Requirements and specifications include :
Education
Minimum : Some education in healthcare field, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
Preferred : Associates degree in relevant Healthcare field preferred; advanced coursework or certifications in process improvement is a plus.
Experience
Minimum : 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations or business process improvement.
Preferred : Experience with healthcare IT systems (e.g., Epic, OnBase); exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or change management principles.
Language Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Foundational knowledge of revenue cycle processes; basic understanding of performance metrics (e.g., denials, collection rates); strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills; interest in process improvement and automation (e.g., RPA).
