Position title : Director, Division of Maternal‑Fetal Medicine
Salary range : UC Salary scales set the minimum pay. Base pay range is $400,000‑$600,000, negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available with membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position Description
The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence. The Department is expanding its clinical and research programs and is recruiting a Division Director in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine.
The Division Director is a key clinical and administrative leader who balances and maintains prominence in the tripartite academic mission, promoting excellence and advancement in clinical care, education, and research.
As an ambassador for the Department and the Division, the selected candidate will lead by example, advise the Department Chair, and provide mentorship to research and clinical faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students.
The candidate will also deliver high‑quality training and teaching, provide clinical care to patients, and conduct research.
The Division Director has historically served as Director of Maternity Services (Obstetrics). Candidates interested in a combined role are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
MD, DO, or equivalent.
Board‑certified in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine and currently practicing in the field.
5 years of clinical experience in the full spectrum of Maternal‑Fetal Medicine.
Strong publication record, with a minimum of 3‑5 publications.
At least 5 years of leadership experience at a division level or in major programmatic areas, and a minimum of 5 years in an academic medical center.
Eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification / permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Clinical Research (or equivalent).
Extramural funding.
