Business Development Manager – Buildings Team (Hybrid / Remote)
Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact : we're hiring a Business Development Manager! The Business Development Manager for the Buildings team at VAA is responsible for expanding the company's reach and revenue by identifying new business opportunities, deepening relationships with existing clients, and developing strategies to penetrate new markets. This role is pivotal in driving long-term growth, implementing effective sales approaches, and forging lasting partnerships within the traditional commercial marketplace (Retail, Office, Warehouse / DC, Hospitality, Corporate, Government, and Housing). The Manager will champion VAA's relationship-based business model and act as a brand ambassador for the firm's vision and values.
Your role :
Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets, lead generation, and proposal development.
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients to secure repeat business and foster a positive reputation.
Represent VAA at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote VAA's services.
Negotiate contracts, scope of work, proposals, and agreements with clients and subcontractors.
Aid in the creation and review / approval of RFPs / SOQs.
Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and client research to identify new opportunities for growth.
Track and manage opportunities through the business development pipeline using CRM tools.
Work with existing client leads to continue fostering a relationship of trust and communication.
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and marketing teams to align business goals with operational capabilities.
Participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders including the BD team, PIC and Client Leadership Team.
Mentor and develop BD team members, fostering growth and backfilling roles as needed.
Act as a brand ambassador by conducting work in alignment with VAA's 2030 vision, values, and goals.
Up to 40% Travel
Your resume must include :
10 or more years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles in an AEC firm.
OR 8 Years of Experience and Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing or related field.
Proven track record in business development within the AEC sector.
Starting Annual Salary Range : $120,000 - $150,000 base with significant bonus incentives based on both company and individual performance. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer including, but not limited to, market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.
