Director of Campus Safety
Position Information

Reports To : Vice President of Student Affairs / Dean of Students
Responsibilities
Coordinate all campus security operations, providing 24 / 7 coverage.Supervise security officers and manage communication with third‑party security vendors.Supervise student dispatchers / workers.Schedule security staff for special events, including parking coordination and event logistics.Oversee parking operations and enforce regulations.Collaborate with campus partners (Saint Louis School, Marianist Center of Hawai‘i) and local officials (HPD, HFD, State Fusion Center).Monitor security camera feeds and maintain equipment.Keep the Campus Security website updated.Draft and revise security policies.Assist in investigations related to accidents, violations, Title IX incidents.Maintain communication with Facilities and Residence Life.Participate in planning and executing special events.Maintain security records and conduct audits.Provide updates on emergency incidents.Emergency Preparedness : collaborate with departments, serve on emergency management team, conduct drills, manage Emergency Command Center.Safety Management and Compliance : prepare Clery Act report, maintain logs, ensure compliance with fire alarms, AEDs, etc.Administrative : develop and manage budget, serve on committees.Education and Experience
Minimum Education : High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or coursework preferred.Experience : Higher education security / emergency preparedness (e.g., FEMA), customer service, law enforcement / public safety (plus).Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : strong customer service, excellent communication, basic computer skills, leadership, valid driver’s license, ability to work in a diverse community, collaborative mindset.Physical Requirements
Light office and community work; ability to lift 20 lbs, walk campus, climb stairs, etc.Other Requirements
Full‑time exempt (40 hrs / week); occasional nights, weekends, variable schedule.Adhere to University policies and safety regulations.Respect and support Catholic and Marianist identity; serve Native Hawaiian and Pacific Island students.Seniority level : Director
