Specialty Court Manager

Position Description

About the Position :

The Specialty Court Manager coordinates and supervises the program development and managerial functions of the specialized programs in court. This includes but is not limited to managing program referrals collaboration with outside programs and agencies court docket coordination delinquency case transfers database maintenance professional staffing coordination and court hearings. The Specialty Court Manager is to ensure that the services provided to the youth are effective decriminalizing and appropriately designed and implemented. This position will be responsible for reporting all of program developments to the Health Services Specialty Court Administrator.

About the Department Services :

The Health Services division of the HCJPD is responsible for the medical psychological and treatment programs within the agency. The services operated within this division include the medical staff that assess and treat youth in the detention center and post-adjudicated addition the division has mental health therapists who provide crisis counseling and individual group and family therapy to youth both in the detention center and under community supervision. Lastly the Health Services division oversees the four specialty courts that operate within the agency to help address some of the underlying factors that may be impacting a youths functioning.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Maintains regular contact with administration within the agency approved outside agency affiliates treatment providers legal representatives the DAs office and the court regarding progress of participants in programs.
• Strategically designs and implements appropriate court programs to ensure that the specialized court programs are effective and efficient.
• Monitors the treatment progress of specialized program participants to ensure effective implementation and operation of the program.
• Reviews and reports all aspects of each individual caseload audits case files according to TJJD Standards and departmental policies; as well as evaluation of work performance.
• Coordinates and facilitates appropriate program levels of participation with all parties involved with the case through disposition and termination.
• Assists in formulation of unit personnel needs as they relate to efficiency in work production and hiring new employees.

The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to youth between the ages of 10 and 17 who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1100 employees and over 3500 youth referred to the department annually. HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board. The Administration building is located in Downtown Houston Texas with several field offices throughout the County and three secure residential facilities.

Regular Full-time

Monday - Friday Late nights and weekends if necessary and / or as scheduled .

Available 24 hours for emergency phone calls.

Salary : $88254.40 Annually

Based on 26 pay periods

Location :

Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
