A leading, world-class academic medical center in San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ultrasound Sonographer to join its dynamic team. What You Will Do
- Perform Diagnostic Sonograms : Execute comprehensive diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for physician interpretation. This includes preparing the patient and equipment and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Obtain Patient Information : Secure appropriate clinical information from referring physicians and services before each exam to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Maintain Technical Excellence : Critically evaluate your own exams, recognize any sub-optimal techniques, and identify equipment malfunctions to maintain the highest quality of work.
- Ensure Mobility : Meet the physical demands of the role, which include performing portable exams and transferring patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Work Across Multiple Sites : You must be flexible to orient and work at various locations within the San Francisco campus, including both adult and pediatric care centers, and outpatient clinics.
- Cover Variable Shifts : Adapt to a flexible schedule that includes rotating 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, as well as covering weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed by the department.
What You Bring
Education : Graduation from a formal, accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.Certifications : Current ARDMS credentials in both Abdomen (AB) and OB / Gyn specialties are required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is also mandatory.Experience :2-5 years of equivalent experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a similar, large hospital setting.
Strong background with at least 2+ years of ultrasound experience in an acute care hospital and outpatient setting, with a particular focus on OB ultrasound .Benefits :
