Scenic Carpenter

Object Construction is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Carpenter with experience in the scenic industry. The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, fabricating, and installing various structures and set pieces according to precise specifications. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, physical fitness, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities :

• Blueprints and Drawings : Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand project requirements and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Measurements and Materials : Accurately measure and calculate the required amount of materials for each project, ensuring minimal waste.
• Fabrication : Safely cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials using hand and power tools, adhering to all safety guidelines and industry standards.
• Construction : Build flats, platforms, window frames, doors, staircases, furniture, cabinets, and shelves, and install them as designated, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintenance : Inspect, repair, and maintain constructed pieces to ensure longevity and safety, addressing any potential hazards immediately.
• Scaffolding : Build scaffolding and other construction structures, including rigging, while working at various heights. Follow all safety protocols to prevent falls and injuries.
• Organization : Maintain clean, organized, and tidy workspaces and tools to minimize accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Logistics : Pack, wrap, load, and unload scenery and materials safely, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
