Product Engineering Technician Team Lead
This position offers a great opportunity to work on industry leading semiconductor devices, targeted for broad applications in Automotive and Industrial markets. In this role, you’ll be a member of AMG Product Engineering PE team, tasked with supporting Product and Test Engineering teams, on various IC product related activities (sample testing, characterization, qualification amongst others). Candidate will primarily work with ATE Test Cell (ATE Tester platforms, handlers, probers), but may also be required to work on bench for data collection and characterization tasks.
Primary responsibilities will include :
- Plan and establish work schedules, staffing requirements, production sequences to maximize productivity.
- Driving and monitoring lab metrics dashboard. This involves setting key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly updating the dashboard with the latest data, and analyzing these metrics to assess overall lab operational performance.
- Support Product / Test engineers for ATE test cell supports (handler / prober setups).
- Product support in the form of sample testing, running IC characterization, running qualification samples on ATE, data-collection.
- Customer Return re-screening and testing on ATE and bench.
- Must be able to debug, diagnose, repair failing ATE boards, sockets, components.
- Must be able to perform setup conversions, repair, and maintenance (R&M), and calibration of ATE Test Cell (Handlers, Probers, and Testers).
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify technical gaps & support new product development activities.
- Install & qualify various functional tester platforms & protocols for engineering & production readiness including : Gage R&R, Industry standard for automotive compliance. Establish test libraries, ATE HW performance tracking, etc. Establish maintenance / calibration schedules and requirements Performing routine maintenance on test equipment and resolve technical issues Performing equipment calibrations periodically before equipment is deployed for use Establish Test Cell logistics and system requirements. Establish requirements / protocols for Test Cell usage and incident tracking. Establish appropriate Operator procedures. Define and establish lab safety standards and compliance to industry standards.
- Lab inspection data collection and record-keeping in accordance with ISO 9001 certification.
- Develop work instructions, standard operation procedures (SOPs), control plans, safety standards and requirements, and visual aids for use of lab equipment and processes.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and their application in laboratory equipment usage.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical and mechanical problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to make decisions related to lab operations & taking responsibility of the possible outcomes.
- Additional skills in following areas is a HUGE plus : General soldering / de-soldering skills (components, ICs, boards, Embedding / de-embedding on boards Able to operate bench equipment. Ability to build mechanical benches for show-and-tell (sporadic need)
Requirements :
High School Diploma or Associate Degree with >10yrs of experience working with ATE Test Cell (tester platforms, handlers, probers).
Prior experience working in semiconductor IC test labs with ability to operate lab equipment.Strong HW repair and soldering / de-soldering skills.Flexibility to work multiple shifts (including 2nd or 3rd shifts as needed).Excellent interpersonal skills – energetic, motivated, and self-driven.Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks.Able to lead a small team of lab / testfloor technicians.LI-MY1
