Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician

Position Overview : We have an immediate need for Two (2) Oncology physician for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. These roles offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the beauty of the Northeast. Responsibilities : Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. Evaluate, triage and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient oncology consultations. Obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Perform administrative tasks as assigned such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations. Provide oncology on-call services as assigned. Must have completed a residency and be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board. Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Hours & Schedule : Standard Administrative Hours : Monday through Friday 8 : 00am 4 : 30pm (excluding federal holidays).
