Schedule : Monday - Friday (40 hrs / wk) 7 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM Department : ARUP Family Health Clinic - 141 Primary Purpose : The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for delivering a high-quality patient experience by guiding, training, and empowering the clinical care team to excel in their roles and perform to the fullest extent of their skills and responsibilities. This role leads the integration of the University Health Information System (Epic) into clinical workflows, optimizing provider support and patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor works closely with the Clinic Operations Supervisor to balance clinical excellence with administrative needs while ensuring care team members are prepared to support the clinic, patients, providers and their colleagues. Oversees, conducts, and delegates training of clinical care team, ensuring proficiency in job responsibilities. Conducts training sessions as needed for clinical care team to develop and reinforce clinical and administrative skills. Creates and maintains training content and competency assessments to enhance clinical care team performance and ensure adherence to best practices. Provides leadership and mentorship to clinical care team, focusing on professional development, clinical competency, and maximizing their skillset within their scope of practice. Delegates tasks to senior or lead Medical Assistant(s) as appropriate to ensure efficient clinic operations and effective team supervision. Acts as the primary resource for clinical support and workflow issues, ensuring the clinical care team can effectively support the clinic, providers and delivery of high-quality patient care. Addresses call-outs and assigns staff to appropriate areas based on clinic needs and individual training, ensuring effective support of clinic, care team and providers. Collaborates with the Clinic Operations Supervisor to maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage adjustments as needed. Serves as the primary resource for Epic integration, supporting staff training and ensuring effective use of the electronic health record (EHR). Provides input and recommendations for clinical care team performance appraisals, corrective actions, and improvement plans, while allowing the Clinic Operations Supervisor to handle administrative responsibilities. Assists in organizing and leading team meetings and supports clinic management in interviewing and onboarding new staff. Collaborates in planning and oversees execution of employee vaccine clinics. Leads implementation and completion of best practices, with a quality care and patient-centered approach. Develops and maintains knowledge of departmental facilities, policies, procedures, and processes. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to departmental changes. Performs other duties as assigned by clinic leadership. Other duties as assigned. Physical and Other Requirements : Stooping : Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Mobility : The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Communicate : Frequently and effectively communicate with others. PPE : Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. ARUP Policies and Procedures : To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures. Medium work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Fine motor control : Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primary with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. Vision : Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
