Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in Pediatric Research, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing research studies. This includes educating healthcare team members, participants, and their caregivers. You will register and compile clinical data, monitor study compliance, and ensure effective data flow for patients involved in clinical trials. Your responsibilities will also include managing patient visits and implementing necessary protocol-related procedures.

Assist the MD in determining patient eligibility for research studies by identifying and pre-screening potential participants. Facilitate informed consent processes.
Evaluate patient outcomes and collaborate with healthcare teams to adjust nursing care processes as needed for optimal patient outcomes.
Work with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement a comprehensive care plan that meets study requirements.
Identify the learning needs of patients and families, providing education about clinical trial participation, treatment purposes, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
Document and gather study data, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
Manage study materials and inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary tools and medications.
Collaborate with the IRB and sponsoring agencies to ensure alignment with study progression and regulatory requirements.
Provide guidance and functional supervision to assigned research staff, ensuring compliance with qualifications and best practices.
Assist the department manager in coordinating resources and developing new strategies for research program growth.
Commit to professional growth through continued education and staying informed of the latest trends in healthcare research.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience - One (1) year of Nursing experience in a specialty area; research experience preferred.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Current SC RN License.
