JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW :
The Medical Billing Representative is responsible for providing support to multiple medical billing operations including : Patient Accounts, Overpayments and Accounts Receivable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Processes enterprise task manager (ETM) worklist in Accounts Receivable, Denials and AppealsReviews rejections to identify trends and carrier issues require reporting to managementResearches carrier issues to determine appropriate actionNotifies Manager of any unusual circumstances regarding Overpayments, Patient Accounts and Accounts ReceivableProcesses credit balances for insurances and guarantors as mandated by internal and financial services policiesHandles correspondence related to credit balances as well as telephone inquiriesPosts all group lockbox receipts and all rejections listed on payment remits in IDX as assignedMaintains daily log of all posted batches via manual and / or generated ERAPerforms required action to assigned reports (Exceeds Transaction Limit, IMBS, Charge Corrections)Assists with training new hires, transfer employees and rehiresAssists trainer with implementation of system upgradesAssists trainer with new hire orientationProvides support with templates, system issues, or password resetsPerforms other duties and assignments as requestedQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :
Ability to sit on-site at the Alcoa Billing Center located in Louisville, TNHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAt least 2 years of medical billing experience requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent presentation skills in classroom settingProficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent follow-up skills, attention to details, organizational skills, & problem solvingAbility to work independently and self-motivated
