Job Title : Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day and Night Hours per Shift : 8 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience preferred License : Must have DC RN license in hand prior to start date Certifications : BLS, VAD Certification within 1-1 / 2 years preferred Must-Have : Knowledge in management of ventricular assist devices Description : The Ventricular Assist Device Coordinator will monitor patients with ventricular assist devices during procedures and operations. This role requires collaboration with materials management and equipment technicians to maintain device inventory, tracking, and response to FDA recalls. The coordinator will provide patient education in accordance with regulatory standards. Weeknight call is from 5 PM to 8 AM, and weekend call is from Friday night at 5 PM through Monday at 7 AM. Call is remote unless medically necessary to come on site. Candidates should be proficient in the management of ventricular assist devices and capable of taking call and assisting with procedures. Primary patient diagnoses include stage D systolic heart failure with a ventricular assist device. This position requires effective communication and interdisciplinary support. Applicants should be prepared for a structured schedule and be adaptable to a dynamic environment.
