Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Surgical & Ortho Nurse Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit / department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies / procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role :

Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.

Work cohesively to develop standards and procedures for providing and improving quality patient care.

Make recommendations and changes to policies using evidence-based research.

Promote strong working relations with other departments in the facility.

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice.

Participate in performance improvement activities to assure continuous quality improvement. Follows patient safety standards.

Promote good public relations for the department and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital while maintaining patient / customer confidentiality and satisfaction.

What qualifications you will need :

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or approved compact state required

Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

5 years of acute care nursing care experience preferred

3-5 years of Charge RN or equivalent experience preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
