POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and automate next-generation network infrastructure supporting AI and containerized workloads. This role blends cloud systems engineering, automation, and advanced networking to deliver secure, high-performance environments that integrate traditional hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies and the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).

You'll be part of a mission-driven engineering team ensuring scalability, resilience, and security across complex classified infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to) :

• Design, deploy, and optimize secure, high-performance network infrastructure across on-premises and OpenShift environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operations using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Go, applying Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Integrate traditional network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) with SDN and container-based networking solutions such as Open vSwitch (OVS), OVN, SONiC, or Cumulus NOS.
• Manage and troubleshoot network connectivity and performance across Linux-based and containerized systems.
• Support OpenShift / Kubernetes networking, including CNI plugins, MetalLB, and Service Mesh configuration.
• Implement observability and performance monitoring across the full network stack, leveraging tools such as the OpenShift Network Observability Operator.
• Collaborate with network architects, systems engineers, and operations teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Contribute to modernization efforts by applying innovative technologies and best practices from Top of Rack to Network Border.
