Dermatology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant)Jefferson Center City

The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant) to serve as member of Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology. Assumes total care of specific dermatologic patients as is appropriate for nurse practitioner under the supervision of department faculty. Follows established nursing standards, procedures and practices and gives specific patient care directions to staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Provides direct patient care to general dermatology patients under collaborative agreement with department physicians.
• Provides patient education
• Writes initial histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual plans of care.
• Phone triage of patient calls
• Orders appropriate laboratory and other diagnostic studies. Review results and follow-up as appropriate.
• Treats dermatologic patients on a contract basis with VA Medical Center in Wilmington DE
• Supervises Medical Assistants as needed
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
