Emergency Room Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Room RN or in a clinical specialty (preferred)

Additional professional education, training, or specialty certifications may be required

ER RN Responsibilities

Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and the healthcare team

Utilize the nursing process to individualize care for patients and families in the emergency department

Direct and support nursing staff in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies

Maintain current knowledge of emergency nursing best practices and clinical techniques

Ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced ER setting
