Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager with strong experience in oncology pharmacy services. This contract role is based in Florence, MA, with an anticipated start date as soon as possible and a duration of approximately 13 weeks, with potential to transition into a temp-to-hire position.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Assessing patient therapy plans to ensure appropriateness, making age-specific modifications, and implementing clinical interventions to minimize adverse drug events.
  • Conducting clinical research and participating in ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Acting as a liaison between pharmacy and other departments within the Cancer and Infusion Center, offering operational support and educational services relating to new oncology treatment regimens.
  • Demonstrating expert knowledge of regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and other sterile products.
  • Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain pliance and quality standards.
  • Overseeing inventory control and storage of medications essential for oncology practice.
  • Developing and updating department and nursing policies to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborating with the Oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.

Desired Qualifications and Experience :

  • Licensed Pharmacist with experience in oncology pharmacy.
  • Proven management skills, including supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  • Deep understanding of sterile product preparation guidelines and chemotherapy protocols.
  • Ability to conduct clinical research and implement process improvements.
  • Strong munication skills to effectively coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
