Job Details :

36 or 48 hour guarantee per week

Minimum 2 years experience required; first-time travelers accepted

Patient population : Adults to Geriatrics

Patient ratio : 1 : 1-2 patients typically carrying 2 patients

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS

Scrub color : Navy Blue

Maximum 7 days requested time off

Every other weekend required unless specified elsewhere

Floating required as needed throughout the facility

No call requirements

Holiday work required : If one major holiday falls during assignment period, expected to work it; if two major holidays, work both; if three major holidays, work two of them

Work in a 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit specializing in patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with intensivist and care team at 10 AM Monday-Friday

Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients

Monitor patients post-AAA repairs requiring specific positioning protocols

Use Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing

24 orientation hours with modules completed during orientation period

Must maintain effective communication with nurses, physicians, and care team

This healthcare facility operates a specialized 10-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit with an average daily census of 7 patients. The facility features an intensivist present Monday through Friday and maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The unit specializes in complex cardiovascular care including post-surgical monitoring and advanced cardiac interventions with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
