Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 22 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 10 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Opportunity : Registered Nurse - PACU Job Details : Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed No weekends, no call, and no holidays required 2 years of experience required with critical care experience preferred Must have Level I Trauma Center experience Required certifications : BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred Navy blue scrubs required EPIC charting system experience preferred Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract May float within scope to PACU or PreOp units only Must pass Relias EKG exam Required skills : dysrhythmia recognition / management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients Experience required with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia Care for patients recovering from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants Night shift staff must learn preoperative patient workup procedures Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility No more than 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Facility : This major healthcare facility operates as a Magnet and Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation, featuring 1,273 total staffed beds. The PACU operates 24 / 7 with 38 patient bays and maintains an average daily census of 70-90 patients. This high-acuity recovery unit serves 80% of patients who require hospital admission after procedures. The facility provides comprehensive specialty support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, with its own PCT / transport team for enhanced patient care coordination.
