Job Summary / Description

KOLN is seeking a driven and dynamic Breaking News Multi‑Media Journalist and Producer to play a critical role in our morning show operations. The position will lead digital coverage of breaking news and weather in the overnight hours, provide coverage in newscasts and on the 10 / 11 Now Streaming Studio, and assist the overnight producer when there are no breaking stories.

Duties / Responsibilities

Lead digital coverage overnight, including writing local news stories as needed and posting to social media.

Report breaking news from the field and 10 / 11 Streaming Studio.

Monitor police scanner for breaking news.

Drive the 10 / 11 storm‑chasing vehicle, the Weather Shield, during weather events.

Produce the 10 / 11 morning show on a fill‑in basis.

Qualifications / Requirements

Exceptional writing ability.

Exceptional news judgment and sense of urgency.

Familiarity with social media and streaming services.

Some experience in journalism, preferably broadcast journalism.

A four‑year degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Familiarity with ENPS, Edius, TVU, Bitcentral, or Arc Publishing is a plus.

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
