A privately held New York real estate investment company is looking for a General Manager to oversee multiple commercial office buildings totaling over 1,000,000 square feet. The successful candidate will manage day‑to‑day operations, financial reporting, lease administration, vendor contracts, and tenant relations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop a staff of building, administrative, and maintenance personnel.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple construction and improvement projects.
- Prepare annual budgets, monthly financial variance reports, and leasing activity reports.
- Conduct site inspections, enforce lease terms, and maintain all site‑specific documentation.
- Negotiate service contracts with vendors and implement tenant retention programs.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Financial Management
Read and analyze financial statements.Create annual budgets and monthly variance reports for both cash and accrual basis.Review and approve bills, accruals, and tenant charges.Prepare quarterly variance reports and re‑forecasted budgets as needed.Qualifications & Experience
At least ten (10) years of commercial property management experience.Extensive knowledge of financial accounting in real estate, financial reporting, and budgeting.Hands‑on experience with base building construction projects.Strong reading skills for construction specifications and blueprints.Experience in supervising and managing staff, performance assessments, training, hiring, discipline, and development.Proficiency in MS Word & Excel.Excellent communication skills in written and oral form.College degree (4 years).Energetic, personable, and able to prioritize assigned duties.Ability to ensure property operations comply with policies, agreements, and owner objectives.Seniority Level
