Field Surveyor

Summary

Maverick is seeking a Field Surveyor to support our engineering team in the Mid-Atlantic region including Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. The ideal candidate will have a background in field survey and data collection. The role will comprise of daily interactions with the engineering staff in matters relating to design engineering, field engineering, and permitting; it shall require the ability to operate in fast paced environment to collect required data as well as process/relay the information gathered. The role will provide heavy exposure and on the job training in the latest survey methodologies for telecommunications engineering.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Data collection utilizing Katapult, IKEs, GPS units, and tablets.
• Operate within a GIS platform inputting and updating data.
• Coordinate with management, engineering, and other team members to ensure all data collected is accurate and complies with client standards.
• Review designs for aerial and underground constructability.
• Provide technical field support to design engineers, project managers and other team members.
• Update and maintain data collection procedures.
• All other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Engineering, GIS or other related field
• 1-3 years of field survey, construction, or related experience.
• Previous training and/or experience working with and handling wood fumigants ideal.
• Strong technical skills in MS Office.
• OSHA 10 and CPR certification preferred.
• Good understanding of PPE and First Aid.
• Some understanding of OSP construction standards.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking for long periods of time over rugged terrain.
• Working outside in inclement weather, exposed to the elements.
• Bending, lifting, stooping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Be willing to travel across states (required).
