Unit Structure

L&D Beds : 9 | OR Suite : 1

Triage Beds : 2 | Postpartum Beds : 4

Births : 850–900 / year

Ratios : Follow AWHONN guidelines

Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, STABLE

Experience Required : Ability to circulate and / or scrub for C-sections

Clinical Details

Drips : Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, Labetalol

Common Cases : LDRP, obstetrical emergencies, hypertension, hemorrhage, etc.

Charge / House Supervisor : Both available

Support Staff : OB Techs

OB / Neonatologist : Not in-house 24 / 7

RT Equipment : 2 vents, 2 bubble CPAP

Telemetry : Available; RNs read strips, monitor tech support if continuous monitoring

EFM System : GE Centricity

Schedule

Shifts : 12-hour AM / PM | Yearly core schedules

Weekends : Every other or 1 per schedule based on seniority

Holidays : Per ONA contract

Call : 2× 12-hr shifts per schedule

Floating : Closed unit (only if emergency)

Scrubs : Provided – Purple

Orientation : Completed on all new staff
