Lead.NET Engineer

The purpose of the role is to focus on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise PaaS-based solutions.This position is hybrid in Toronto.What You'll Do : Develop and support scalable web / API applications using .NET core and Azure Platform ServicesBuild new applications / services / platformsRefactor legacy components using innovative / scalable platformsDevelop, lead, and manage on / offshore engineering teamsParticipate in agile SDLC meetings with other engineering teams (Full-stack, QA, DevOps, and Product teams)Design JSON payloads and various payload contextsDecompose portions of the legacy application into APIs running on App ServicesWork with large database schemas that would include adding and updating tables and rowsWrite Unit tests and documentationPartner with cross-functional teams to deliver the best solutionsWhat You Have : 3+ years in an engineering manager roleIn-depth knowledge of service-oriented architecture, object-oriented programming, MVC, and other design patternsUnderstanding Git concepts such as branching, merging, pull requests, and conflict resolution utilizing Bitbucket or GithubPrior experience leveraging issue-tracking systems / wikis for documentation (Jira / Confluence)Willingness to learn designing fault-tolerant architecture on cloud deployments (load balancing, clustering, reducing / eliminating single points of failure, etc.)Must be hands-on enough to code review and roll-up sleeves as an individual contributor under force majeure, yet effectively delegate and manage resources, timelines, and deliverablesLead the team through disaster recovery drillsPreferred Technical Qualifications : 10+ years of experience developing software using C# and .NET tech stackHands-on experience with Azure platform services : Web Apps, Web Jobs, Functions, API Management;Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure SQL;CosmosDB Key Vault, Azure DevOps;Active Directory, ILB, Application Gateway / WAF;Storage Account, Private LinkComfort with Powershell, Ansible, Terraform, and ARM Templates are a plusUnderstanding using / crafting architecture diagrams in Visio or LucidChartMaintain problem solving skills and a proactive work styleStrong interpersonal and communication skillsIndependent contributor with driveCollaborative and teamwork-orientedHold yourself accountable for work and take ownership of tasksStrategic thinkerManage projects and uphold quality on a deadlineExhibit judgement when it comes to prioritization and overall team managementProven effective leadership skillsWhat We Offer : Paid Time OffComprehensive benefits planCompany RRSP MatchDevelopment opportunities through the LinkedIn Learning platformAbout Guidepoint : Guidepoint is a leading research enablement platform designed to advance understanding and empower our clients' decision-making process.
