About The Position

Job Title : Histology Technician

Profession : Laboratory

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (22 : 00 - 06 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : GA or Compact license required

Certifications : ASCP-HT, BLS

Must-Have :

• Experience in performing frozen sections, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and special stains.
• Proficiency in automated / manual microtome techniques and embedding procedures.
• Ability to work within the scope of practice.

Description :

Perform frozen sections, IHC, and special stains.

Conduct recuts with limited embedding on this shift.

Schedule is Monday to Friday with no weekend requirements.

No call responsibilities are expected.

Clinical review will determine candidate fit.

All travelers are expected to work major holidays that occur during their assignment period.

If one major holiday falls within the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it.

If two major holidays fall within the assignment, the traveler is expected to work both.

If three major holidays occur during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two holidays.

Compliance is required to start on time.

Full compliance is necessary; if not compliant in time, there will be a 2-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Travelers must submit core items and complete / schedule labs promptly after signing the contract to ensure an on-time start.

Candidates must have two supervisory references provided at the time of submission.

References must be managerial level or above.

No holiday time-off requests will be accepted if one or two major holidays occur during the assignment period.

One holiday time-off request may be reviewed for approval if three major holidays occur during the assignment.
