Roads And Bridges Maintenance Worker

This position shall at times be responsible for scheduling and completing maintenance tasks in a timely fashion. The employee shall be responsible to ensure maintenance duties are completed in a safest manner with quality. The position works under the direction of the foreperson, but can receive direction from the Superintendent or Department Director.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs roads and bridge maintenance.
• Operate equipment, have basic carpentry, masonry experience, knowledge of PennDot publications regarding work zone traffic control.
• The work involves heavy physical exertion.
• This position is subject to emergency call outs on off hours and or weekends. This person is expected to be available for emergency callouts.
• Required to operate county vehicles including pickup trucks to backhoes therefore a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Drivers License (CDL) class A or B is required.
• Is in contact with Crew Chief, Foreman and Administrator.
• Determines which type of sign is needed or desired.
• Determine from the sign manual which materials are needed and gather them together.
• Essential personnel / On-Call.
• Snow / Ice Removal (operating plows).
