About The Position

Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist

Profession : Therapy / Rehabilitation

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour

Hours per Shift : 08 : 00 - 16 : 30

Experience : Minimum 1 year in acute care, preferred experience in IPR

License : Current state license required

Certifications : BLS, CCC-SLP, FEES, MBSImP, Vital Stim

Must-Have :

Independent, quick learning SLP with acute care experience

Experience with MBS and FEES is preferred

Willingness to float between units

Rotation of weekends between a small team of SLPs

Description :

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong background in acute care.

The ideal candidate should be capable of treating an average of 6-8 patients per day.

This role involves a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including stroke and head injury.

The SLP will participate in interdisciplinary support services and conduct both bedside swallow evaluations and formal assessments such as Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES).

Strong patient and family education skills are essential for this position.

Candidates must possess the ability to modify diet orders and implement compensatory strategies effectively.

Experience in dysphagia management and familiarity with international dysphagia diet guidelines are important.

The position requires collaboration with respiratory and social services teams to enhance patient recovery.

This role may include floating to different units as needed to provide comprehensive care.
