What to Expect Heron Power is a startup company building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid. You Will ContributeIdentify and formalize supplier relationships, with all commercial terms agreed and documentedNegotiate piece price and tooling to ensure supplied component costs meet or exceed Heron Power's should cost expectations without sacrificing qualityManage business risk through scenario assessment of capacity, geopolitics, logistics, and supplier technology / commercial roadmaps. Actively partner with the engineering team to identify / mitigate supply and demand challengesMaintain healthy, high performance supplier relationships, managing through dispute resolution and supplier, engineering and plan-driven changesCollaboratively develop the supply plan for every part to achieve factory new program introduction datesDevelop and execute the logistics and warehousing strategy associated with and in partnership with factory operationsEscalate key supply, cost, and / or quality issues with partner teams and collaboratively develop corrective action plansWhat You Will BringWe have a short list of must-have requirements. We prioritize candidates with a strong grip on first principles, hands-on skills, and initiative. Must-Have Requirements Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering or equivalent and demonstrated exceptional ability5+ years of experience in supply chain and / or logistics rolesTechnical & commercial understanding of tooling and manufacturing processesSufficient experience with manufacturing, packaging, and logistics to generate bottom-up should cost estimates for some commoditiesExcellent negotiation and collaboration skillsProficient with technical drawings and specifications, knowledge of manufacturing process control and quality assurance methodsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailNice-to-HavesExtensive supply chain or manufacturing operations experience with sheet metal fabrication methods (i.e. stamping) and coatings, printed circuit board fab and assembly, power semiconductors, electronic components, injection molded plastics or adhesivesPrior supplier development supporting medium voltage (34.5kV) or grid-related power electronics, such as converters, switchgear, circuit breakers, dielectric materials, and bussingIf you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
